Bunkie Lottery Returns! Small Cabin - Big Win
The Group Health Centre (GHC) Trust Fund is thrilled to announce the return of the Bunkie Lottery, offering exciting prizes and making an even greater impact on local healthcare. Now in its second year, this community fundraiser gives participants the chance to win incredible rewards while directly supporting life-saving diagnostic imaging services in our community
This year’s lottery boasts $55,000 in total prizes, including five $1,000 early bird cash draws held every Wednesday in July. The grand prize draw takes place on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., featuring the highly sought-after Rockwood 160 Bunkie from Bunkie Life. The winner can choose between the Bunkie Package, which includes the Rockwood 160 Bunkie plus $30,000 cash, or opt for an all-cash prize of $40,000.
Proceeds from the Bunkie Lottery will help fund vital improvements to GHC’s Diagnostic Imaging department, which carries out over 41,000 procedures each year. This department plays a vital role in early detection and timely diagnosis—cornerstones of effective healthcare. Importantly, these services are publicly accessible, even for those without a family doctor. Current fundraising priorities include replacing the mammography unit and six ultrasound units—a project with a total cost of over $850,000.
“Investing in diagnostic imaging is investing in lives,” says Lil Silvano, GHC President & CEO. “Advanced imaging equipment ensures faster, more accurate diagnoses, but the cost is significant.
The GHC Trust Fund is proud to once again partner with Bunkie Life, a trusted, family-run Ontario business dedicated to supporting charitable organizations such as Ronald McDonald House Canada and Make-A-Wish Canada. Known for their easy-to-assemble bunkie kits, Bunkie Life helps people create additional space—whether for a guesthouse, home office, backyard studio, or a cottage retreat.
“Bunkies offer endless possibilities, and we’re delighted to bring this opportunity back to the community while raising funds for equipment that will make a lasting impact on patient care,” says Tricia Lesnick, Trust Fund Manager.
