The lottery is back with a $70,000 grand prize, and valuable second, third and early-bird prizes, thanks to support from the Sault’s business community.

Supporting community healthcare with exciting prizes, the Big Wish Lottery, a key fundraiser by the Group Health Centre (GHC) Trust Fund, returns with a grand $70,000 cash prize. Proceeds from this year’s Big Wish Lottery will support purchasing surgical equipment for GHC.

“We are thrilled to kick off this year’s Big Wish Lottery supported by so many local businesses,” said Tricia Lesnick, GHC trust fund manager. “This year, we’re delighted to announce an array of fantastic prizes available to be won. With three incredible grand prizes and 15 early bird draws, there are plenty of opportunities to win big. Plus, there are 18 chances to win in total.”

The 2024 Big Wish has three grand prizes up for grabs. The first grand prize is $70,000 in cash. Along with the tickets, the winner will also receive airfare, hotel, and travel accommodations for two, plus spending money. This grand prize is sponsored by KiSS 100.5 and Country 104.3.

There will be two draws for a $250 gift card to one of the participating partners, and one draw for $500 cash.

This year’s draw has a total of $90,000 in prizes, with 18 chances to win and only 12,000 tickets available. The draw will occur on Feb. 1, 2024.

“2024’s Big Wish Lottery kicked off on Nov. 17 and was marked by an exceptional collaboration with The Marconi Multicultural Event Centre, hosting the much-anticipated Rabbit Dinner,” said Lesnick.

“This new partnership marks a significant milestone for Big Wish, and we’re profoundly grateful to The Marconi for orchestrating a successful launch event and for their generous donation of $5,000. This contribution is instrumental in enabling GHC to acquire essential surgical equipment, directly impacting our community’s healthcare services.”

GHC’s Trust Fund is dedicated to advancing local healthcare through the proceeds of its annual Big Wish Lottery. This year, GHC’s fundraising efforts are targeted at acquiring critical surgical equipment that will significantly enhance patient care.

2024’s equipment wish list includes a state-of-the-art gastroscope, a life-saving manual ACLS defibrillator, an advanced video imaging system, and a new high-definition video monitor.

Every ticket purchased for the Big Wish Lottery helps GHC upgrade its medical capabilities and provide better care to the community.
