1. What is a simulation golf fundraiser?

A simulation golf fundraiser is an event where participants play virtual golf using simulation technology, in a controlled indoor environment. It’s a fun and engaging way to raise funds for a cause while enjoying the game of golf.

2. How does a simulation golf fundraiser work?

Participants form teams and play rounds of virtual golf on simulators that mimic real golf courses. Each team will play 9-holes (2h, 15 min). Participants must register as a team and prizes will be awarded based on team performance. All teams will play a 4-person scramble.

3. What equipment is needed for a simulation golf fundraiser?

We encourage participants to match the “golf” theme dress code. You will also need all your golf clubs, balls, shoes, gloves, ext. If you do not have your own equipment, please let Up & Down Lounge know when you are registering and they will provide rental clubs at no extra cost. (limited quantities are available on a first come, first-served basis)

4. How do participants register for the fundraiser?

Participants can register by e-transferring the total amount ($200.00) to payment@upanddownlounge.com for a team and then providing contact information, team name, captain name, preferred tee time, and a secondary tee time in a follow up email to info@upanddownlounge.com. Once Up & Down notices the E-Transfer and Email they will respond and confirm your tee time.

5. What if my preferred and secondary tee times are full?

The E-Transfer will be automatically deposited. If your preferred and secondary tee times are full then Up & Down Lounge will inquire with you about another tee time. If you are unable to attend any of the remaining available tee times they can issue a refund.

6. How long do I have to be able to claim a refund?

Refunds can be claimed before May 15th, at 11:59pm by sending a refund request email to info@upanddownlounge.com

7. Can participants of all skill levels join the fundraiser?

Yes, simulation golf fundraisers are typically open to participants of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced golfers. The event is more about having fun and supporting the cause rather than competitive skill level.

8. How are funds raised during the event?

Funds are raised through registration fees, sponsorships, donations, and additional fundraising activities will be available such as raffles, contests, mulligans and sale of food at the event.

9. What kind of prizes will be awarded?

Prizes will include awards for top-performing team, hole-in-one contest, closest-to-the-pin  door prizes, 50/50 raffle, and giveaways.

10. How can organizations or sponsors get involved?

Organizations or sponsors can support the fundraiser by providing financial sponsorship, donating prizes or auction items, or volunteering their services. They may also have the opportunity to have their branding displayed during the event. If you know any organization that might be interested, please email ghc_trustfund@ghc.on.ca

11. What if we finish our 9-hole game before the 2h 15 minutes is up?

If you finish early, you may enjoy the other simulation games that Up & Down has to offer. This includes darts, Foot Golf, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Football, Field Goal Kicking, Hockey, Handball, Archery, Sport Shooting, Hunting, Dodgeball, Bowling, Bocce, or Horseshoes. You may also participate in our other contests and raffles and/or simply just relax and enjoy the aesthetics of the lounge.

12. What are we fundraising for?

The proceeds from this event will go towards a mammography unit for our Group Health Centre.  Our mammography unit service contract will be up in 2026 and the replacement cost is significant.  GHC Diagnostic Imaging department is home to the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) and performs over 6,000 mammograms as a public service every year.  Raising awareness for this equipment need as well as educating the public on early detection are equally important initiatives as part of this campaign.

13. Will there be food and drinks?

There will be pizza and popcorn for sale. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be sold by the venue at their cash bar.

14. What if we cannot find a 4th person for our team?

If you cannot reach the maximum number of players for a team (4) you will still need to pay the $200 fee associated with registering for a team. Having 4 people on your team is not a requirement but the price to register a team will not vary based on the number of players on your team.
