Surgery at GHC

For thousands of patients each year who received peace of mind that they’re healthy, or got an early diagnosis with a treatment plan for recovery, we were there.

Every year, Sault Ste. Marie and area residents depend on Group Health Centre’s Surgery Department for their scopes and minor surgeries – saving them time, stress, and out-of-town travel. This program – which is not only better for patients, but also better for our surgeons and the healthcare system – would simply not exist in this setting without the incredible generosity of our community.

Thanks to donors over the past several decades, our surgeons have always had the tools they need to perform these procedures – but those tools are aging and will soon need to be replaced. As we continue on our journey to raise $285,000 for new equipment, we ask for your help.

Spotlight on Colposcopy

Having specialized equipment available in our offices is key to making experiences better for our patients and healthcare providers.

For our Obstetricians and Gynecologists, this key piece of equipment is a colposcope. Their colposcope has supported the health of thousands of women, and is in need of replacement.

Watch the video below to learn more about the equipment, and the patients at Group Health Centre it has helped.
